PT Gaya Makmur Tractors introduces the XCMG Excavator in the 13-ton class, which will be displayed at the Sawit Indonesia Expo 2023 at the Pekanbaru Convention & Exhibition, Riau, on 8-9 August.
The advantages and specialties of the 13-ton XCMG brand excavator were revealed by PT Gaya Makmur Tractors (GMT) as the official distributor of various XCMG products in Indonesia. The 13-ton class XCMG excavator is quite effective and efficient when applied in oil palm plantations to support multiple types of work. Among other things, for uprooting chipping (rejuvenation of palm oil plantations) and making and maintaining water channels (drainage) in the plantations.
Kevin Hendratama, Excavator West Area Manager of PT Gaya Makmur Tractors, explained that the unit (13-ton class XCMG Excavator) is suitable for application in oil palm plantations. Because the area of oil palm plantations on an industrial scale is quite large, it is very effective and efficient to carry out the work using an excavator.
"Especially to support the uprooting and chipping of palm oil plantations, as well as for maintenance and construction of water channels. "And, it can still be applied to support other work in oil palm plantations," he explained.
From information obtained by the editorial team of Indonesian Sawit Magazine, the 13-ton class XCMG Excavator unit, equipped with an ISUZU BB-4BG1TRP engine, is capable of producing engine power of 72.7/2200 kW/rpm. Meanwhile, the maximum digging reach is 8175 mm, the maximum digging depth is 5122 mm, the bucket digging power is 85kN, and the arm reaching capacity is 8296 mm.
Meanwhile, the cabin provides excellent comfort for the operator. Operator safety is much safer from insect attacks. Spacious, safe, comfortable cabin, AM/FM radio, cigarette lighter, and other amenities. This 13-ton class XCMG excavator also has a silicon rubber spring composite damper.
In this case, it is used to reduce vibration and impact. Then, the comfortable operator seat with high-quality suspension can be adjusted in any direction. It has good ventilation to reduce operator fatigue—a dual-purpose, high-power automatic air conditioner with two-stage air filtration.
Furthermore, Kevin revealed the features and advantages of the 13-ton class XCMG Excavator unit. "It has sensors that can monitor horsepower and do multitasking work, allowing a combination of movements such as walking, digging, and carrying simultaneously.
“These advantages and privileges can increase productivity and work efficiency. "The advantages and privileges of this 13-ton class XCMG Excavator have been introduced almost three years ago in the palm oil plantation sector," he said.
"The oil palm plantation sector in Indonesia, which covers an area of 16.3 million ha, needs the support of heavy equipment, one of which is an excavator. "So, carrying out various jobs can be effective and efficient," added Kevin.
However, based on facts in the field, business actors in the palm oil plantation sector in choosing an excavator have one consideration, one of which is a fuel-efficient unit. So, what about the 13-ton class XCMG Excavator unit introduced in the palm oil plantation sector for 2 – 3 years?
Regarding this matter, Hengky Hardiyanshah, Excavator Division General Manager of PT Gaya Makmur Tractors (GMT), said it is about fuel economy because it depends on the engine's application.
