The largest large equipment provider company in China, Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group (XCMG), will open a factory in Indonesia. The factory is said to be fully electric. Apart from that, they will also open 500 jobs.
XCMG will open a heavy equipment manufacturing factory in Indonesia. This information was conveyed directly by the Assistant President of XCMG and General Manager of XCMG Mining, Cui Ji Sheng, in a press conference that took place on the "Mining & Construction Indonesia Expo 2023" agenda, which was held at JIEXPO Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
Cui Ji Sheng explained that the manufacturing factory would produce heavy equipment in accordance with market demand in Indonesia, which is synonymous with coal mining. In addition, the factory is planned to be completely electric. It is targeted to produce 3000 units of heavy equipment annually.
"We will build a manufacturing factory here in the near future. We are still looking for a location. It could be in Java, Kalimantan, or Sumatra," he said Wednesday (13/9/2023).
He explained that XCMG would open the factory because Indonesia has the world's largest nickel reserves. According to detik.com records, in 2020, the amount will reach 72 tonnes or 52% of the world's total nickel reserves.
"The factory is not far from the source of raw materials. Not like other countries," continued Cui Ji Sheng.
Apart from that, the bespectacled man also explained that it was hoped the factory would encourage job creation. He explained that his party would create at least 500 jobs if the factory were established.
"Opening of 500 vacancies in various positions. Hopefully, this plan will run smoothly," he concluded.
