XCMG Launches Its First Overseas New Energy Manufacturing Base, Strengthening Green Industry in Indonesia

Central Halmahera, July 27, 2026 — XCMG has officially launched the operation of its Indonesia New Energy Manufacturing Base, located in the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP), Central Halmahera, North Maluku. This facility marks XCMG's first overseas new energy heavy machinery plant outside China, signaling a strategic step by the company to accelerate green manufacturing development and deliver sustainable heavy equipment solutions to the Indonesian market.

The launch of the facility was highlighted by the official opening of XCMG's Indonesia New Energy Manufacturing Base and the handover of the first batch of electric heavy equipment to IWIP, a key strategic partner of the company. The event was attended by XCMG executive management, IWIP representatives, clients, industry partners, and invited guests from various sectors.

Through this facility, XCMG integrates manufacturing processes, research and development (R&D), and after-sales service tailored specifically to Indonesia's operational demands. The local production base is expected to shorten delivery lead times, improve service response speed, and provide optimized support for Indonesia's mining, infrastructure construction, and industrial estate sectors.

During the event, XCMG also introduced the XC968-EV electric wheel loader, which features an integrated dual-motor drive system to deliver higher operational efficiency. This unit is designed to help customers reduce operating and maintenance costs while supporting carbon emission reduction across mining and industrial operations.

Beyond manufacturing, the XCMG Indonesia New Energy Manufacturing Base will also promote a circular economy through used heavy equipment management and component remanufacturing programs. To date, approximately 80 percent of XCMG Indonesia’s operational workforce consists of local talent, reflecting the company’s commitment to human resource development and strengthening national industry.

Having been present in Indonesia for over three decades, XCMG continues to expand its business network and after-sales services. The company is currently supported by 32 sales outlets, 53 service networks, more than 120 service vehicles, and a spare parts distribution system powering more than 30,000 XCMG heavy machinery units operating across Indonesia.

The launch of the Indonesia New Energy Manufacturing Base represents a key milestone in XCMG's global strategy to expand green manufacturing in international markets while strengthening industrial cooperation between Indonesia and China. Driven by technological innovation, smart manufacturing, and close collaboration with local partners, XCMG remains committed to delivering more efficient, eco-friendly, and sustainable heavy machinery solutions to support future green infrastructure and industrial growth in Indonesia.
